LARS is a non-proselytizing ecumenical ministry serving the Greater Laurel area by assisting homeless and low-income individuals and families who are experiencing a crisis by providing both emergency and long-term services designed to promote self-sufficiency.
Our Community Crisis Clinic, located just a few blocks from Main Street off of Route 1, offers support to families and individuals in Prince George's, Howard, and Anne Arundel Counties.

Wednesday 9:00am - 2:00pm
Friday 9:00am - 2:00pm

Join us on Saturday, September 28th, 2013 from 10am-12pm at Laurel Lakes/Granville Gude Park for our First Annual LARS Community Picnic! Bring yourself, your friends and family, your picnic lunch, and your walking shoes! It is $20 for youth walkers (ages 25 and under) and $30 for adult walkers. All of the money raised comes directly back to LARS as part of the Fannie Mae Help the Homeless Community Walk Program. Walkers of all ages and pets (on leashes) are welcome!

You're Invited to a Silent Auction & Dinner!
LARS' 9th Annual Silent Auction & Bull/Oyster Roast is Saturday, June 1st from 6-10pm at the American Legion, Post 60 in Laurel. Tickets are $45 in advance and $50 at the door. All proceeds from auction items benefit LARS' programs and services. Come out to support a great local cause and score some great deals on local dining, getaways, and more! We have some exciting auction items this year, including 4 tickets to Disney World, an Ocean City vacation, passes to local ski resorts & museums, and MUCH more!

Staple items that are most helpful to our pantry include: peanut butter and jelly, tuna and Tuna Helper, canned fruit and vegetables, canned soup, beans, cereal, oatmeal, "just-add-water" pancake mix, macaroni and cheese, pasta and sauces, rice, etc.
Download a shopping list and challenge your child to fill up a basket for LARS next time you visit the grocery store!
Please keep LARS in mind as you clean out your own pantry, but no expired food please. Donations can be dropped off at LARS during business hours (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9-2pm and Monday evenings from 5-7:30pm). If you would like to hold a food drive on behalf of LARS at your workplace, congregation, school, neighborhood, or other organization, please contact Charles Smalls at 301.776.0442 x28 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
* Please note: Due to limited storage, LARS cannot currently accomodate clothing or furniture donations. However, we do provide clothing and furniture vouchers to our clients to be used at the Laurel Thrift Store, so donations are always welcome there.
